The event, however was originally scheduled to take place today was brought forward to Thursday afternoon due to weather warnings for high winds and rain. Eight teams competed on Fast40+ sailing yachts during the competition, which took place in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
Prince William and Kate hope the King’s Cup regatta will become an annual event, increasing awareness of the benefits of sport, while also raising support and funds for their causes.

It was a Cambridge family affair as George and Charlotte watch their parents race for The King’s Cup. The adorable children accompanied their parents Kate and William for a charity sailing race and showed off their cheeky side! Siblings, George and Charlotte joined their grandparents on a spectator boat watching their parents compete. Before that they enjoyed time on the seafront taking part in fun packed family activities.
